Shanghai Real Star Rehabilitation Equipment Co., Ltd. is specialized in the research and commercialization of accessible wearable exoskeleton for gait assistance and rehabilitation. Our vision is to help millions of patients suffering from nervous system diseases or muscle injuries (including stroke, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, etc.) restore walking ability, improve body function, and provide effective technical support for improving their quality of life and finally returning to society.  

Kickstart® bio-inspired lower limb exoskeleton can amplify a user’s walking ability by integrating a flexible multi-joint orthosis with Exotendon® technology, which is the world’s leading mechanical assisted walking system that does not require external power.  Exotendon is inspired by the anatomical characteristics of the horse’s hind limbs and functions like an artificial tendon. It stores elastic energy and provides support and control during the stance phase of a gait cycle, releases energy in the swing phase, which results in added assistance and improved walking efficiency for the patient.

Presently, Kickstart® Clinical, Kickstart® Personal and Kidstart® Walk Assist Systems have received medical device registrations and met the ISO13485 quality system requirement. This innovative exoskeleton device can provide convenient, effective, and personalized rehabilitation solutions for patients in rehabilitation hospitals, community rehabilitation centers and home-based care.  During clinical validation, Kickstart® is shown to improve a patient's balance, provide support to the impaired side, add assistance, and normalize gait, so to help the patient to recover independent walking.
